Sara Heinonen is a Hamilton-based fiction author and photographer whose images have been included in several juried exhibitions. She draws on her background as a landscape architect and writer for portraits and for street photography that explores urban places and her experiences within them.

Artist Statement:

In the harsh environment of a downtown Hamilton street, an old crab apple tree puts on an exhilarating show. Its bloom is a testament to nature's resilience, the pure joy of springtime, and the power of colour to transform a scene.
