Stefan Herda explores the troubling relationship between humans and the natural world through drawing, sculpture and video. Inspired by earth sciences, Herda’s work navigates the space between truth and fiction. His material and process-based investigations fuse together elements of authenticity, façade, the natural and the manufactured. Stefan received his BAH from the University of Guelph in 2010 and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Landscape Architecture at the University of Toronto. His work in both sculpture and video has been included in exhibitions nationally, and has been featured by CBC Arts and Daily VICE. Stefan has held solo shows at Patel Projects, Wil Kucey Gallery (both Toronto) and Y+ Contemporary (Scarborough), and has participated in group shows at InterAccess, YTB Gallery (both Toronto) and Idea Exchange (Cambridge).
