Three-dimensional saw-cut and copper-plated aluminum multiple in five pieces fabricated from 5/8" thick aluminum signed with incised signature, stamped "MdS" and "R", dated 1981 and numbered 11/50 with the publisher’s stamped mark and copyright stamp to the edge of one piece. Published by Gemini G.E.L., Los Angeles. Together with the publisher's catalogue, "Mark di Suvero," illustrated in colour and two newspaper clippings featuring other works by the artist.

The sculpture can be assembled in different configurations ranging from flat to a three-dimensional display of connecting parts. "Rising," executed in both nickel and copper versions, was shot-peened prior to the plating to achieve a surface that is non-reflective and rougher to the touch.
The collaboration between Mark di Suvero and Gemini on this series occurred during the period of February 1979 to February 1981.
