It was a natural progression for me to go from 30 years of written communications to visual storytelling through [my] photography. I spent 16 years of my life as a student of flying trapeze, and was thus exposed to a world of elite athletes who use their strength and bodies to create beautiful moments of circus magic. This is an aerial circus device known as the hoop.
This one-off dual-tone print was created using one of the earliest forms of photographic printing, a process known as gum bichromate. [This production technique is] hand developed using a wash-off process that takes roughly two days to complete.
